You oughta know how Jagged Little Pill inspired Workin' Moms creator Catherine Reitman

In 1995, 21-year-old Alanis Morissette dropped her now iconic album Jagged Little Pill — and it had a profound impact on young women everywhere thanks to its unapologetic anthems and passionate ballads. One of those women was Catherine Reitman, who was a teenager at the time.

Reitman, the creator and star of the new comedy series Workin' Moms, listened to the album on repeat when it first came out, and she's still inspired by Morissette's courage to put her personal relationships, feelings and struggles into her art.

That album isn't just an anger album, it's an album where we're hearing a woman speak candidly about an  experience that hurt her and she triumphed from that.- Catherine Reitman
