CBC Arts and Paradise Theatre are teaming up to celebrate The 50 Greatest Films Directed by Canadians
In celebration of the launch of CBC Arts Presents: The 50 Greatest Films Directed by Canadians, we're teaming up with Toronto's historic Paradise Theatre for a screening series highlighting nearly all of the list's top 10 films... plus a few bonus films from the rest of the top 50.
Kicking off on July 9th with Alanis Obomsawin's Kanehsatake: 270 Years of Resistance, the series — curated and produced in a collaboration between Paradise Theatre programmer Lucy Walker and CBC Arts producer Peter Knegt — will feature 8 films from the top 10 (as well as bonus screenings of several others) the way they were meant to be seen: on the big screen.
Sunday, July 9th @ 7pm - Kanehsatake: 270 Years of Resistance
Alanis Obomsawin spent 78 days behind Kanien'kéhaka lines to bring viewers a fiercely honest account of the Oka Crisis in her landmark documentary. Get your tickets.
