As a kid, Baroness von Sketch-director Aleysa Young didn't know she wanted to be a director, because she didn't see women directors.

Audiences of the Baroness Von Sketch Show can see the hilarious relationships and engaging comedic personalities of the talented women that appear on the show. Behind the casts' comedic escapades is a team of intelligent, creative, and hilarious women who "get along like a house on fire" and make this show the great success it is.

But for a key member of this team of girl bosses — director Aleysa Young — you might not have guessed it was actually her first time directing a full season in the crazy and competitive television industry. Being a woman in the director's seat, Young has had to overcome the "bitch stereotype" that many women face in this position of power, but she believes that now has never been a better time for young women to take charge in this industry and tell their important stories.

Baroness Von Sketch Show has received five Canadian Screen Award nominations including Aleysa's nomination for Best Direction in a variety or Sketch Comedy Program or Series.
