Canadian cinema would never have been the same without Geneviève Bujold
Geneviève Bujold is being recognized with a lifetime achievement award at the 2018 #ggawards
In a career spanning more than half a century, Geneviève Bujold has shown herself to be that most rare of actors: as real on camera as she is off. Now in the her 70s, the iconic Montreal-born actress is being honoured with a Lifetime Artistic Achievement Award in Film from the Governor General Performing Arts Awards.

The actress was best known for her role as Anne Boleyn in the 1969 film Anne of the Thousand Days, which earned her a Golden Globe, as well as an Oscar nomination. She went on to work on several landmark Canadian films, such as Claude Jutra's Kamouraska, and Paul Almond's Isabel, Act of the Heart, Journey, Final Assignment and The Dance Goes On.
After gaining international acclaim, she returned to her roots in Canadian cinema. Her most recent work includes Michael McGowan's Still Mine in 2012 and François Delisle's Chorus in 2015.
