People have been turning found objects into art since Picasso, but Malaysian artist Red Hong Yi takes the concept to ingenious new heights. She says she "likes to paint, but not with a paintbrush," which for her means using makeup, food, tea bags or even socks. Her Instagram account proves that she can create pretty much anything out of pretty much anything.

Yi uses coffee cup stains to create an image of Italian singer Lucio Dalla:

And she transforms an assortment of green fruit and vegetables into a portrait of British food dude Jamie Oliver:

She also used bamboo chopsticks (more than 60,000 of them!) to form a likeness of Jackie Chan:

Her art is so fascinating it's no surprise she's caught the eye of NBC, Daily Mail and The Wall Street Journal.

Social media can be so much more than selfies and viral videos — it's increasingly becoming a scratch pad for emerging artists and other creative minds to show off their latest work. Artstagram curates the best visual talent on Instagram, helping bring a little more art into your daily feed.
